Badrinath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and a key pillar of the Char Dham. Located along the banks of the Alaknanda River, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped here as Badrinarayan. The temple features a colorful, 50-foot-tall facade resembling a Buddhist vihara, with a black stone idol inside. Before entering, pilgrims take a holy bath in the Tapt Kund, a natural hot sulphur spring situated just below the temple on the cold riverbed.
