Dhari Devi Temple is a highly revered shrine located on the banks of the Alaknanda River near Srinagar. The temple houses the upper half of the deity of Goddess Dhari Devi, who is considered the guardian deity of Uttarakhand and protector of the Char Dhams. The idol is unique as it is situated in the middle of the river, raised on concrete pillars. According to local belief, the face of the goddess changes appearance from a girl in the morning to a woman in the afternoon and an elderly lady in the evening.
