Khardung La is a legendary mountain pass that serves as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok valleys, historically famous as one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Responsible Travel & Etiquette
Do not stay at the summit for more than 15-20 minutes to avoid severe altitude sickness (HAPE)
Move slowly; do not run, jump, or exert yourself physically at this altitude
Park your bikes in a single file on the roadside; do not block the narrow pass
Wear heavy windproof jackets, gloves, and helmets at all times
